Nameko are characterized by its gelatinous texture, slippery veil, smooth cap, and orange color. Once cooked, it has a crunchy texture and nutty flavor.

Nameko is one of the most popular cultivated mushrooms in Japan, common in the cool, temperate highlands of Asia. [1]
